Benefits of Renting Bobcat Equipment Instead of Buying or Leasing

Posted on

If you have a relatively new construction company, you might not have all the heavy construction equipment you will need for various jobs. There may come a time when you need a tractor or excavator and need to decide if you should purchase one new or rent it. Here are some benefits of renting your Bobcat construction equipment.

You Don't Have to Worry About Storage

When you own large construction equipment, it is sometimes hard to find proper storage. In some cases, you can temporarily store it behind a fenced area on job sites, but once that job is done, what do you do with it? You will need to have a storage unit that allows you to store heavy and bulky equipment, or you need to have business property with enough space for storing it. This not only adds to the overall costs of owning the equipment, but can be a real hassle. When you rent it, the company drops it off and picks it up without you worrying about storage once you're done with it.

Renting Helps You to Save Money

In many cases, the big construction equipment you use isn't something you have a need for every day and for every job. It can be a major investment to buy the equipment new, or even to lease it. Leasing still requires monthly payments, interest, and possibly a down payment for financing. In either of these options, you need a good amount of capital to afford it. If you don't know yet how often you will need it, it is better to start by renting then see how often you end up renting the equipment. At that point, you can decide whether you should buy it or not.

You Can Try Out the Equipment First

You might currently be deciding between two different models of loaders or tractors, but need to test them out first. Renting equipment is the perfect way to do this. You can rent one model, try it out on your job site, then rent another one. This is a great way to give them a full test drive on an actual job site before making a large investment.

The Equipment is Upgraded and Well-Maintained

If you purchase heavy construction equipment, in a few years, it might already be outdated. With renting, you always get the newest models of equipment. These rental companies often update their inventory so you can choose the newer models if you like. This gives you advanced safety features, efficient equipment, and the ability to have equipment that is in good condition and doesn't require maintenance.
